The re-freeze overnight has created some hazardous neighborhood roads in several parts of our district. Because of this, Edmond Public Schools will remain closed and have a snow day for all schools for Thursday, January 29th. More information will follow regarding activities and athletic events.
There are no remote learning expectations for our students today. The instructional time missed today will need to be made up, so employees on 240 and 245 day contracts should report to work or use 50/50 leave today. We will share information about how today’s missed instructional time will be made up as soon as possible.
We are aware parts of the district have clear roads, but as you know our district covers a large area and neighborhood conditions are very different depending on where you are. We have been working tirelessly since Sunday to get our buildings back open as quickly as possible, but safety continues to be our top priority. Our Operations Team has been working since Sunday and will continue working to get our buildings ready to welcome back our students and staff members as soon as it is safe to have school. Even though the temperatures have stayed at or below freezing, the sun is helping these efforts! We are hopeful we’ll be able to return to school on Thursday.
